OLIVIA SIMILES AND METAPHOR
Definition of similes and metaphors:
A simile is a figure of speech that directly compares two things. Similes differ from metaphors by highlighting the similarities between two things that must use "like" and "as", while metaphors create an implicit comparison.
Examples of similes
She is as cool as ice
The water is as blue as the sky.
My room is cold as the arctic waters
The polluted water is as cloudy as mud
My food is as salty as sea water.
Examples of metaphor
Water finds it own level.
My food is ice cold
Clean water is crystal clear
